Hello my friends!
How are you? How’s your summer been if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere? It’s unbearably hot in my part of the world. For the last two weeks, the weather has been reporting an excessive heat advisory every day, making it impossible to enjoy anything outdoors. So I’ve been inside with the air conditioning and only going out when I have no choice.
Anyway… on to the reason for this short missive. As you saw in the subject line, I’m speaking at an event. Gulp! One of my goals this year was to do some collaborations to meet new friends and get more involved in the writing community.
I’m very excited about it despite my nervousness and thought you might be interested. Here are the deets.
Would you like advice on finding new readers?Â
I'm going to be speaking at a very interesting event this week, "Find Your Readers" (August 4th to 7th). It's an online summit for writers of all levels (whether or not you've finished your first book) to help you build your audience.Â
This online summit will teach you low-stress, low-budget techniques for connecting with readers — even if you are in an early stage of your writing journey. This is less of a "book marketing summit" and more of a guide to building a public presence and reaching the right people — the people who will care about what you are writing.
The speakers will cover great topics like
"How to use Pinterest as a slow growth tool"
"How to talk about your book to strangers"
"How to find the right literary agent for you"
"What to write in the first two months of your author newsletter"
"How can I market myself in an ethical, admirable way?"
and many more!
The event has free and paid ticket options.Â
You can actually watch the whole event live, for free, but it's also great to upgrade to the (very affordable) paid ticket.
This is year three of the summit, and it's really meant to be accessible to writers of all kinds, all over the world. As a result, you can register with a free pass — as long as you can watch the whole thing live (20+ sessions over four days).Â
But having the pass is the **best** way to attend this substantial, in-depth event, giving you the best possible benefit to your writing craft (because you can refer to the transcripts and watch the replays whenever you want).
In addition, pass buyers will receive an assortment of **bonuses** from speakers, some of which usually sell, on their own, for more than the pass price: mini-courses, pdf guides, discounts, and additional mini-lessons. The pass buyers get a "book" of the talk transcripts at the end of the event in pdf form.

Note: this is an affiliate link, which means I get a commission if you decide to upgrade to a paid pass. This doesn’t raise the price for you — you pay the same whether you buy through my link or on the summit website itself. The commission is something the host pays out to speakers as a thank you for sharing the event.
Please let me know if you plan to attend! I would love to connect and chat about the talks and what you took from the summit.
And be on the lookout for my next missive coming soon!
Until next time,
Lakeisha xo
I look forward to hearing you speak along with others. Thank you for sharing this info.
