Hello, my lovelies - Happy Sunday. I’m feeling quite tired and am moving very slowly these days. My house move is almost complete. This is the final week. I’m so excited for this shit to be over.
But I must say, I’m deeply smitten with my new place. When getting some of the final things from the old place yesterday, I got a massive mosquito bite on my inner thigh. That sucker bit me through my leggings. As annoyed as I was (I swell terribly from the bites… allergic reaction), it reminded me of the impermanence of discomfort. The itchiness, along with other things happening in my life right now, is uncomfortable.
As I write this, I get the sense that someone else needs this message as well — whatever you’re going through that feels uncomfortable, this too shall pass.
Enough channeling and waffling on, yeah? Let’s get into this week’s guidance from the cards.
I’m using both tarot and oracle today. The oracle card will serve as the energy to work with this week, and the tarot will serve as guidance for that energy.
Energy: Aries
What to face: 9 of cups
What to embrace: King of pentacles
As the first sign in the zodiac, Aries represents new beginnings, fresh energy and a pioneering spirit. The number one in numerology is also associated with new starts, fresh perspectives and an individual initiative.
I feel this will be a week filled with impulsiveness, enthusiasm and a strong desire to take action. However, I want to emphasize the importance of caution and careful planning. Aries is ruled by Mars, and he’s the epitome of fire. In your writing this week, be mindful of plot holes or inconsistencies that can arise from rushing through your work.
The 9 of cups is about contentment, wishes fulfilled and a sense of emotional fulfillment. Because it’s in the “what you need to face” position, it’s telling me that you may need to confront feelings of self-doubt about your writing or creative blocks. It's a reminder to appreciate the progress you've made and trust in your abilities.
I’m also getting a sense that some of you might be feeling satisfied with your writing progress or had a recent achievement. Again, because of the card position, I’m hearing the word “complacency.” Making progress and having achievements are wonderful. It’s what we want as writers! But it’s also important to maintain your drive and avoid becoming too comfortable. There’s no such thing as perfection, but we can always improve.
The king of pentacles symbolizes practicality, stability and material success. I love to see this king and have a love affair with him. Embrace a more structured approach to your work, such as setting deadlines, creating outlines or establishing a consistent writing routine. I know the word “structure” frightens some of y’all, but it truly is a good, and often necessary thing. Structure does not equate to rigidity. So embrace a more grounded and pragmatic approach to your writing. Focus on building a solid foundation for your work, whether it's through worldbuilding, character development or plot structure.
Actionable advice from The Book Druid
Balance impulsivity with planning: Aries energy will certainly encourage action, but remember to balance it with careful planning and attention to detail. It’s Virgo season… take heed. Take time to outline your stories and consider the potential consequences of impulsive decisions.
Confront self-doubt: Addressing feelings of self-doubt and/or creative blocks is essential. Practice self-compassion and remind yourself of your accomplishments.
Celebrate your achievements: Take time to appreciate the progress you've made and celebrate your successes, no matter how small. This can help boost your confidence and motivation. But… see next point…
Avoid complacency: Celebrate your achievements, yes, but don't let them lull you into a sense of complacency. Stay motivated and continue to strive for excellence.
Embrace structure: Experiment with different techniques like outlining, setting deadlines or using writing prompts to stay focused and productive.
Journal prompts for integration and reflection

How can you incorporate more practical wisdom and stability into your writing process? What steps can you take to build a stronger foundation for your work?
What steps can you take to create a more stable and productive writing environment?
What are some self-doubt or creative blocks that you're currently facing? How can you overcome them using your imagination to find innovative solutions? Tip: tarot is one way to do this.
That’s all for this week. Happy writing, my lovelies.
